Hong Kong with Ruby!

IMG_8907A weekend away with Ruby in Hong Kong! We had so much fun and it was so nice to see Ainhoa and Chang with their kids. We know them for a very long time when we lived in Singapore. Then without kids…So what do you do when you are in Hong Kong with a 5 year old? We visited Disney Land!

So on our second day we took the train to Disney Land and the kids went crazy when they met Mickey Mouse and saw all the cartoon characters coming to live! Between the screaming and the fun, Ainhoa and I had enough time to catch up. It has been 4 years ago since we last saw each other. Those were less happier times, when they came to visit us with Irati in Sri Lanka and the Tsunami struck us all by surprise… We ended up at a rooftop terrace sleeping under the stars with hardly any food for the kids and recovering from an incredible shock. Only days later we realised the magnitude of the disaster and,  how lucky we had been….

But this weekend was about celebrating our time together! We visited the centre of Hong Kong, made a little train ride, went a day to the beach and had fun!! Ruby couldn’t of course remember Irati but they connected really well.

I enjoyed my time with Ruby. He is growing so fast and being together with him alone for a few days, I realise what a special bond we have. We have been living through quite a bit together and although he is not aware of it all, one day we will have the time and recall these precious moments we spend together. Now back in Bangkok, it is so nice to be here and to be surrounded by our lush garden. I missed my little one and hubby! X
