Skiing in Austria!

Family Ski Holiday Austria February 2009 041

We arrived in the Alpes! After a long train journey with the whole family we disembarked in Fugen, a beautiful little town in Tyrol, Austria. It had snowed the night before so we couldn’t wait to get out there and be in the cool fresh mountain air!!! We decided to take it easy the first day with Sam and Ruby so we took them to the ski slope next to the hotel.

Miguel practised a little with Ruben, gave him a bit of a warm up and made him feel more confident on his skis. An hour later he joined his first ski class and he did pretty well! Sam was not very keen to walk around. He preferred to stay high and dry on Miguel’s shoulders. He disliked the cold and the fact that he had to wear his gloves and couldn’t touch the snow with his bear hands for too long! But at the end of the day he was in a better mood and my parents took him out for a little stroll after his siesta.

Tamara and Gert had gone for a walk through town and would join us later for a train ride through the valley and a toboggan competition. (idea of the guys!) 🙂
