During the mid term break of school, we took the boys to Dambulla. We needed to explore the area for some product development and our friend Stefanie had offered us to stay at her beautiful house. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed a few days away from the busy streets of Colombo. Back in nature what we love so much!
The house is open plan living so although you are at home, you are actually outside which I think is the best way live in the tropics. In the morning you hear the birds, the little river that passes by the house and the wind that blows through the rooms.. Ohh heaven!
We needed to try out an experience for SriLankaInStyle and so we took the boys on a bullock cart ride ( pictures in other post!) continued with a boat ride on the river and we finished it with a traditional rice & curry lunch. We also climbed Sigiriya Rock with the kids. Guido was too small so I had to stay back but Ruben and Sam made it all to the top! Unfortunately, Miguel didn’t take any pictures of them but I am sure they will treasure these moments for the rest of their lives.. Ruben told me so proud that he had achieved it and had watched the most amazing sunset! 🙂
Back at home we made a great barbecue. The boys love to help out. Especially Sam who adores cooking! Little Guido watched at a distance as he was a little afraid of the fire but once we sat at the table he loved the food. Especially when we added a bit of chili. His favourite! 😉
