A boat ride and rice&curry for lunch!

Today we were picked up early to go on a little boat ride with the kids and have a traditional rice&curry for lunch. At SriLankaInStyle we are developing experiences and this is one we needed to try out as a family. Just see if it would work for our clients and in the meantime the kids would hopefully learn a thing or two! 🙂

Little Guido was a bit reluctant in the beginning to go on the boat but once we arrived he was keen to go up and see the tree hut for himself! They had given us hats made of banana leaves which protected us from the sun so that came in handy! It was really hot out there on the river but we enjoyed the silence and the scenery was stunning!

After the experience, we had a traditional rice&curry. Guido loves it unlike Sam and Ruby who prefer to eat less spicy. The kids also watched how the rice was cleaned before cooking and couldn’t get enough of asking the lady questions and try it out for themselves. What a lovely day!
