Just outside of our village Es Bordes you’ll find a beautiful national park, L’ Artiga de Lin. It is de perfect place for picnics, hiking and swimming in the little streams. Today, we went for a picnic and the kids loved it! We bought lot’s of chorizo for on the barbecue, Spanish ham, cheese, delicious bread, salads and of course a bottle ( or two 😉 of Spanish wine.
Sam and Ruben went off with Miguel to look for dry wood to put on the barbecue while I was staying back with Espe to keep an eye on Joaquin and Guido. The temperature was perfect and the kids had so much space to run around and play hide and seek! I enjoyed my glass of wine and taking pictures of this family tradition. Spending time with the family is so precious and I realise it every year when we are all back together.
Here in Spain (and of course Holland) are their roots and I hope one day they will look back at these pictures and recall these beautiful memories they have spent here with their grandparents, auntie and cousin in this unique setting. x
