The roads are empty, schools are closed and Colombo is getting ready for the Common Wealth Summit. So off we went to Ulpotha with Giles and Anthe. No better way to home school you kids there. In the mid of nature, wildlife and great organic rice&curry!!
In the mornings we woke up early as usual. Only this time not by the traffic out in the streets but by the monkeys! 🙂 Kids would have a bit of breakfast and then we spent a hour on doing their homework. All kids were given homework packs for the days the school was closed so us busy parents taking the role from the teachers. But also Ruby helped out a lot and read out loud to Zindzi, Sam and Guido. Flynn was too small to pay full attention and at times Guido would wander around on the little bike he found or painted / coloured. Something he loves to do!
Kids also had a yoga session of Suzi in the afternoon and were part of the traditional rice ceremony to celebrate the beginning of the season. Most of the time, the kids were not to be seen. Played hide and seek, swam in the lake or just exploring the village.
Heaven! As I managed to read finally a few chapters of my book! 🙂
