Back in Ribadeo! We have been coming to this little fishermen village at the Atlantic Coast for many years. Miguel’s family loves it here and so when in August people fleeing the city of Madrid in search of cooler weather, Ribadeo is the place to be. As a Dutch girl, I am too familiar with this cooler climate, the unpredictable days of perhaps sunshine or rain. But living in the tropics for rest of the year, a few days of rain doesn’t matter me that much and I love that we can wear our jumpers!
The kids entertain themselves here with their “bandilla de verano” which means their “group of friends”who every year return here for their summer holidays. It is so nice to see them engaging in Spanish. It is always challenging for them when they go back. The shift to suddenly have to speak in Spanish or Dutch but they doing pretty well and I am very proud of my bunch of three!
