Sinterklaas is in Galle! What a party and fun! As the tradition goes, also this year we went to Claudia to celebrate Sinterklaas his birthday. For us a special place as this was our old house 14 years ago. Ruby was not there this year. He had a birthday party of his friend in Colombo but Guido and even Sam ( who doesn’t believe anymore) had a great time.
We sang lot’s of Sinterklaas songs, made drawings and had typical Dutch sweets. When it began to get dark, we suddenly heard a lot of sounds and knocking on the door. It was Sinterklaas and Zwarte Piet with lot’s of pepernoten! Kids went crazy ( and the parents too after a bottle of wine each! ;)..So many laughs and giggles as we all knew who it was…Eduard!
But Guido had no idea and a little nervous he stood bravely with Sinterklaas and somewhat relieved that he was ,a “good boy”, got his present. Sam stood there very cool but I could tell that he was a little nervous too standing next to this old man..:)
We ended up dancing and enjoying some delicious food! What a great party!! Thank you Claudia!
