Travelers and sportsmen at heart, our boys went off this evening to Abu Dhabi with their other friends from TAFA to play at the Abu Dhabi Manchester City Football Tournament!
So excited and anxious we would miss the plane, we sett of early from Galle straight to the airport. Ruben is joining the team for the first time on a trip abroad as a coach! Sam is playing for the U12 and Guido for the U8. I waved them goodbye all in the hope they would manage a very tiring red-eye flight. Guido’s first match is at 8am tomorrow morning so I hope he will cope. Sam plays a bit later so he should be fine.
Miguel will join them on their second day. He flies in from Dubai and will hire a car to see them play their last matches. Fingers crossed all goes well!
BTW, when it came to saying goodbye there were no kisses. “Mum you embarrassing us”! Hence a big smile and a high five and off they went. Will miss my three musketeers! X

Results! Guido’s team came second! What an achievement for the U8!! Sam’s team didn’t make it but heh, it is about the experience and tonight they are off for a desert safari so I am sure Sam will not worry about it too much… knowing him! 😉
