The Bali Spirit Festival!

Yesterday, just when we were about to finish lunch at the Green Village, we met a guy from Israel who lives in LA but is travelling around Bali with his girlfriend. He told us about the Bali Spirit Festival in Ubud and his little business ‘tribalmarkers”, which is all about tribal design. The markers create beautiful tattoos which are not harmful for your skin and can easily be removed if you want to. The boys loved it so we decided to join them today and here we are, just back from having spent the whole afternoon and evening  with an amazing group of people from all over the world!

We met with musicians, yogi’s, artists, “green lovers” and foodies from all sorts of backgrounds and cultures. It was refreshing to be emerged in a different scene. We realised how undeveloped Sri Lanka is in that respect but it gave us a lot of positive energy and the kids were all excited with their tribal marker! Creating stunning marks on their hands, arms and face.

There were plenty of workshops, yoga sessions to participate in. Sam quickly connected with a guy from Poland who works in a circus and Guido had a try on one of the Balinese instruments. Once it became dark, the place turned magic! Music everywhere, people singing and dancing, and there was a delicious smell of food hanging in the air. We indulged in some local dishes, lot’s of fresh coconuts and bought a few pressies at the market.

Boys are asleep now and Miguel is finishing off a bit of work. Tomorrow, we are taking it a bit easy. The last two days have been full on! 🙂
