After a hour drive to the airport in Bali from Ubud, a hour flight to Lombok, two hour road trip through Lombok and a ferry ride, we finally made it to Gili Air where our friends Tom and Libby were waiting for us. We couldn’t wait to see them again!
It had been raining a bit on the way in Lombok and the ferry ride so we were all wet and super hungry. After a change and a nice late lunch, Libby took us all on a bike ride to explore the island. Still very idillic with the horse carts and the little shacks on the beach but we could tell that the island is changing and construction is going on in a lot of places. The bike ride ended up at the beach where we all had a swim and watched the sunset.
We had some serious catching up to do after all these years so we ended up chatting till dark. Had a beautiful dinner at the beach and then went back to the hotel for a well needed rest. What a day!
