Off we were this morning early for a snorkeling trip to discover the other two islands Gili Meno and Gili Triwangan. Once we all had our gear sorted we headed to Gili Meno, the most undeveloped island of the three. On our way, we were surprised to see the volcano in Bali releasing clouds of ash in the distance. Would it erupt this time? Waauw! What a sight! It made our diving trip even more exciting! 🙂
We stopped on many places on our way and managed to see all kinds of beautiful fishes and a huge sea turtle just before we wanted to head back. During the trip we had a great chat with the boys about climate change and the effect it has had on the coral reef not only here at the Gili Islands but also elsewhere in the world such as the Great Barrier Reef in Australia..
At Gili Meno, we enjoyed a lovely lunch. Just right at the beach! Fresh fish and fruit juices. It really made you feel like Robinson Crusoe.. On our way back, we noticed that the volcano had stopped smoking so that was a relief knowing that we had to fly back to Colombo this coming Sunday! Fingers crossed!
