After a big lunch at home and a siesta, we thought of taking the boys for a stroll through Madrid and visit the Museum del Prado this afternoon. Unfortunately, there was such an enormous cue that we had to change plans and so we went for a walk to the Retiro Park instead 🙂
I love that park! It is so mediterranean to me.. We had a few glasses of sangria and the boys their “lemon de granizado “. We walked around for a while enjoying the architecture and the shady paths perfectly manicured and then made it to the centre of town. Showed them the beautiful Plaza Mayor, my old house (!) where I used to live when I was a student and then went to a few amazing places for tapas. By 10pm we were still enjoying ourselves at Plaza Santa Anna!! 🙂 Such a difference with Asia where the sun sets at 6.40pm.. Here we are at 10pm in Spain where the sun begins to make it’s way down and people are coming out for a dinner.. Long live the summer days!
