Beach Clean Ups!

Since we came back from Bali, we have been working really hard to be more eco conscious. I have done a course with the Green School in Bali and we set up a project here in Galle (@ByeByePlasticStraws) to raise awareness among the local community not to waste plastic and pollute our precious beaches and beautiful country!

We aim to make sure that the local restaurants, bars and hotels are not providing any longer plastic straws to their customers. Guido has been really helpful in making a few posters and we have been doing beach clean ups at Unawatuna and Dewata beach.

Very proud of my boys that they keep reminding us and helping their country Sri Lanka to become a greener place!

This morning we set off to the Galle Face Green for an early walk and beach clean up. We found so many plastic bags and bottles which people just leave behind their visit to the beach or the Galle Face Green. It is still called this way but if we don’t do something about the plastic waste we soon don’t have a Green to sit on anymore or swim in our beaches!!!!!!!! 😦

The boys did a fantastic job and we enjoyed our time together working on a good cause. Let’s keep up the good work boys! XXX
