Corcovado!

This is the little train station where we took the train up to Corcovado mountain to see the famous Christ the Redeemer! We had taken the little yellow tram around the corner from our house but then it left us stranded half way the hill!!..:(  So we walked for a good half a hour until we managed to get a taxi who dropped us off.

Once we were in the train there was a group of older women dancing and singing along. It was quiete amusing as the boys felt uncomfortable while Miguel was eager to join the group in the same compartment. So in the end the boys were in the front of the train while we were listening to bosa nova songs and swinging along with the funny group of older folks! In some sort of way it was a real awakening…Living in Sri Lanka you are not used anymore to that sort of expression. So free, so happy and beautiful.

Once we were at the top, the boys went straight up to the stairs to see the view over Rio. It was mind blowing! What a city! So well positioned among the bay and hills. We spent a good hour contemplating the endless views and had an ice cream on our way back. It was so hot and Miguel needed to go to the airport later that night so we didn’t stay that long as he was nervous about not getting in time to the airport.

Once we were home, we cooked a nice little meal together. Listened to some music. We thought of creating a play list of our trip so tonight we added the first two songs. Bosa Nova it is! Miguel and Ruby played the guitar together and then we waived Miguel goodbye…See you soon daddy cool! X
