On our way back from the volcano we needed to unwind a bit of the climb and decided to go for a fresh juice and chill out. Here in Chile there are berries everywhere and alongside the road you find many fruit stalls selling jams, compote and fresh juices. We found a little wooden cottage with delicious home made cakes and juices made of fresh berries. The boys had a stroll outside in the forest and along the river..
Miguel had gone for a little siesta in the car while I was enjoying the scenery with the boys. We found a gorgeous old wooden church, and flowers that reminded me of my village I crew up in Holland. After Miguel woke up we made it to the beach for a stroll and watched the volcanos in the distance. The sand, the beaches…everything is black and even in the little town you wil be remembered of evacuations signs. It made us realise what a big role the volcanos play here in the lives of the local people…
When the sun was setting, we decided to head back to town. We needed a shower and get ready for our next bus journey. Our aim was to leave town around 10pm so we would get to Pichilemu the next day. I had told the boys about the surf in Pichilemu and they were so keen to find out. I also longed for the beach and a bit of warmer weather and of course hopefully some good waves!! 🙂
