Sooo cold and windy!!! We made it today to the top of Volcano Osorno!!!! It was an amazing experience and although a little unprepared it didn’t matter to the fun and astonishment! The views were spectacular and I think the boys were impressed with the climb. Miguel had taken the lead and was soon to disappear while the boys and I followed in pursuit. Guido stopping on the way to collect a few stones which he wanted to bring back home to show his friends.
It was hard to keep standing as the wind was so strong. I managed to take a few video’s and pics but I realised that the best I could do was to keep on walking and making sure the boys were in my sight. The trail was uneven, rocky and we slipped a million of times. We had left our boots foolishly in the bags in the hotel and I was regretting it. So half way, I had to go back with Guido..
Miguel and the boys returned later with a big smile. They had made it to the top! Miguel was frozen as he was only wearing a jumper. We decided it was better to go back. A few dark heavy clouds were coming in and it was hard to see the road.
On our way down, the weather changed and we were glad to see that the sun was still out. We decided to stop for a drink. On our way to the volcano earlier in the day, we had seen so many little eateries and cafe’s and we were dying for a fresh juice! ( see next post!) X
