We made it to Santiago and just came back from an amazing dinner. It is so hot here! I can’t believe what a difference in temperature! Only a two hour bus drive from Pichilemu and you are in a completely different world. Santiago is huge. We arrived in the center of town but quickly found our way to Sara and Santi’s home. The drive was about half a hour through the heavy traffic but soon we found ourselves on the highway were we got a good perspective on the city itself.

Santi and Sara live in a suburb just out of the city centre. We were happy to be in warmer, dryer air and when we arrived the whole family was waiting for us! It had been many years since I last saw Sara, now a mum of three, she looked like a real mum! Beautiful and sweet as always. We had a little swim in the pool of their house, long chats about their life in Chile and our trip so far.

The kids immediately got along despite the age difference. Ruben always so accommodating. Something I really much appreciate.  Later in the afternoon, we headed back into town for a stroll in the park and dinner. The kids had fun. Played football while us adults kept on chatting. It must have been around 9pm when we made it for dinner. A spectacular restaurant with views over the mountain just on the border of the park. We dined till late in the evening. By midnight we were all in bed with our tummies full of a delicious meal and excitement about what is going to come…

Tomorrow morning, we are heading to the airport to catch our flight to Calama where I hope our guide will be waiting to take us to our “hotel”! Yay!!!
