Death Valley!

What an incredible place is the Atacama Desert! On our way to the Death Valley, we stopped to get a glimpse of the views which are truly out of this world! There were security people around as we needed to be careful with falling rocks. Due to the unusual rain from last night there were warnings about possible mud slides. Who could have imagined!??????

But we had a blast and we didn’t mind. As long as we still could be outside and get the boys to show them this amazing place. We were all so stunned. It almost felt if you were on a different planet. It could have easily been Mars and no surprise that Atacama has been the back drop for so many futuristic movies…

Once we entered the national park of Death Valley, we tried to find a picknick spot. We parked our car and made a walk around the steep rock formations and sand dunes. It was dry and it didn’t look like it was going to rain so we were lucky!

I had taken our new Bolivian rug which I had bought at the market yesterday in search of presents for Guido. The colours very shady old pink. It made me think about our new house back home.. a nice rug for my little studio…who knows? But above all a beautiful memory…memories of precious moments like today…

Guido was clearly enjoying himself. They had found an amazing sand dune to roll all the way down. Sam and Ruben were especially nice to him and anything he liked doing was this time no objection. Even Ruben played along with the hide and seek game. So nice to watch. We had delicious sandwiches for lunch and chocolate cakes I had managed to buy in the village yesterday.

Miguel played the guitar and I watched the boys…feeling so blessed. If this could only last forever…..X
