We need to get out! There was more rainfall last night and police has prohibit any buses or trucks to come into the little town because of the danger of landslides. Gosshh! Who would have thought that? The driest place on the planet and we need to evacuate!
Lucky we have our car so we can leave. We are all so sad. We would have loved to stay and discover this magical place. Bolivia is off the cards. The border is closed. After some talks we have decided to leave the car in Calama and take the night bus to La Serena. We will make a short stop and take another bus to Elqui. A small valley in the interior and known for its spirituality and clear skies. In Elqui we hope to have nicer weather and see the stars at night which we missed out here in Atacama…
It is going to be a day of heavy traveling but the boys are in a good mood. We bought a bit of food for on the way and we are ready for our next adventure. We all cross fingers we can get out and make it to Calama in time for the bus!
