Zapallar!

Yesterday, we arrived safe and sound (literally!) in Zapallar. Edgardo was waiting for us with a delicious meal. The house is amazing! We still were in time to see the view from his home before the sun was setting. The kids were tired so they went off to sleep after dinner but Miguel and I were privileged to spend some time with Edgardo and listen to his stories of his family, Chile and the plans he had in mind for the next few days…

This morning, we made a beautiful walk around town. We followed the coastline, had a drink at the beach and did some shopping. Miguel is keen to make a paella tomorrow. A few friends of Edgardo are coming for lunch so that should be fun and yummy! 🙂

In the afternoon, we went back to the beach for a swim. It felt so good to feel the sand and the smell of the ocean. The boys went in but I could only bear it up to my knees. Gosh the water is cold here!!  I must confess that I do miss the ocean back home and be able to wear my dresses again….Miguel had a nap and the boys played football until it became to windy and we decided to go back home.

Tonight, we are going for sunset drinks at a friend’s house. The boys are taking a shower. Miguel is doing a bit of work and while sipping a glass of red wine writing this all down, it strikes me again how fast time has gone….. I still remember planning it all and being in conversation with Miguel about our days here in Zapallar….

If it could only last…..X
