Haldemulla Estate!

We woke up very early this morning. The air so clean and fresh. The sun was just out and Miguel had found his spot on the terrace and was playing the guitar. The boys were playing football outside and I made a walk around the estate to get myself familiar with the location. Last night it had been raining when we arrived and it was all dark. Now in the light of the sun it felt all so different.

I missed our Ruby and so I called him if everything was ok. Today is Maya her birthday so they were going to celebrate it together with a group of their friends. Wished he was here…. Tomorrow is Eastern Sunday.  Every year we paint the eggs in the morning followed by an egg hunt in the garden after breakfast. It has become a tradition that we share with friends. My mum did it for us and I have such fond memories of it all. But this time Ruben will not be there….will miss him…

It seems to get cloudy just around lunch time so Miguel and I decided to go for a walk through the tea estate and the tea factory which is not far from the cottage and get a bit of exercise. The boys had forgotten their bags of clothes at home and hiking boots so unfortunately they had to stay home. Three days in the same clothes didn’t seem to be a problem for them but I was slightly annoyed that instead they had brought their skateboards, Miguel his guitar and piano!!! but nobody had thought about the bags which were ready and packed in Sam’s bedroom. Guys!!!!!!!

The walk was beautiful. We crossed a little village, jumped over a river and watched the view from above. All so idilic! Once we came back, we had lunch with the boys and played some music and a few board games…A day spent together as a family which feels always perfect to me 🙂
