A little light in difficult times. Today, we got the house ready for the Vesak Celebrations, the birth of Budha. Guido helped hanging the lanterns and it all looked so different at once. A bit of joy and lightness….
So much is still in the air. People are losing their jobs of lack of work. The travel advisories of many countries are still negative and our friends of the community here in Galle, back in Colombo and ourselves..we are all suffering the consequences…
It is difficult to keep the spirit up high. “What is next”?….many of us ask ourselves..I wish we had an answer. At the same time, I praise myself lucky. To have a homeland to go back to. To have our kids in health.
They are back in school with a few military guys patrolling the area. The walls have increased in height and there are no after school activities for the time being. So we do homework when they are back, go for surf if the weather is nice and play some monopoly.
In the meantime, working on options. On alternative schooling if we have to leave…On finding a new base…but where?…..
