Haarlem

We spent three days in Haarlem with Imre and her boys. Every year we are paying her a visit. It is fun for Sam and Ruben as her sons are from the same age. Guido is a little too young yet to participate in the stuff that teenagers love doing so he is on a football camp in Hilversum. I took him the very first day and will pick him up at the end of today. Have missed my little fellow. So much looking forward to hear what he has to tell! 🙂

In Haarlem we had a few beautiful days. The boys did a lot of skateboarding and played football. I had organised a little dinner for my friends, Erik, Karlijn, Inez and Michelle. So we cooked together, chatted and had such good laughs. It was so nice to see them again! It felt just like yesterday. Unfortunately, Michelle couldn’t join us but I will see her next week as she doesn’t live that far from my mum’s place.

With Imre, I strolled around town, had endless conversations, coffee and lunch breaks, visits to the park and festivals, on the bike, a museum….Loved it all!! It gives you a real good sense of how it would be to live here again. And I feel blessed to have such wonderful friends despite the distance and years I live abroad. I hope it will last forever! X
