Curfew is lifted from 6am till 2pm. So this morning Miguel and I took our bikes and went for an early swim at Wijaya beach. It must have been 7 am when we left home. The kids were still asleep. It was heaven to feel the wind through my hair again and the touch of the sand, the salty smell of the ocean and swim in the cristal clear water. It felt truly Paradise!
The above, was 4 weeks ago. We are still in lockdown or curfew as they call it in Sri Lanka. We had three weeks of 3 days lockdown, stay at home, and after half a day the curfew was lifted for the bear essentials. Hotels, restaurants and the majority of shops are still closed. During the New Year period we were in total lockdown for one whole week. Our friends in Colombo haven’t yet been able to step outside at all. I feel for them. Especially those families with small kids and living in apartments. So thankful that we are here in Galle and the boys can swim or play football outside..
The video shows how creative the boys have become now they can’t go surf. But they have find a way! Even DJ has become a victim of their play and he gets taken for surf classes!! 🙂
The picture below is from a few days ago. The lockdowns have changed. We can now enjoy weekdays off during the day but weekends and evenings at home. What a change! No rush to do shopping but finally a bit of freedom back. Guido and I went for an early swim at Wijaya and it was magic! Nobody to be seen. Only us and three turtles!
