The curfew has been totally lifted now and today the boys went for the first time back to their fitness training. When they left, it struck me how they both were wearing their mask. Is this the new normal? And for how long?
At times it makes me feel sad to see them having to deal with this new habit of wearing masks and social distancing at this age. Teenagers love and need their freedom. Away from home and with their friends…but so many restrictions are not making that easier for them. I must say that Sam and Ruben have accepted it without major complains and go about their lives as independently as possible.
I wonder if we can go back to Europe this summer and when the school will open again…? Three months have gone by with home schooling and another two to go before the summer holidays begin. Today, I saw them sitting at the table working while Guido being Guido threw in a few straw hats just for fun. I had to giggle when I saw them sitting at the dining table. Maybe it wasn’t maths, science but they surely had fun! 🙂
Ruben is anxious waiting to hear if he needs to sit for his O level exams in October or if he will be graded based on the exams so far. I can tell he is losing momentum and motivation. It would be more than fair for him and all other students who worked so hard and going through these unprecedented stressful times, not to have them sit for the exams…
Cross fingers! XX
