Lucky me that I was there watching him and just managed to record it! Both Miguel and I hadn’t seen him play in a long time and both felt so proud 🙂
It has been more than a month now since he lives 5 days a week in Colombo. Just before Christmas he got a call from his coach Thaabit that he put his name forward for an opportunity to attend the Steven Gerard Academy in Liverpool to play at professional level. An amazing chance for him to showcase his skills. A dream coming true!
So with a few small adjustments at school and at home, he trains almost every day, plays in and outdoor football and coaches the younger kids at the TAFA academy in Colombo. I miss him terribly at home. Suddenly he has left ” the nest” for a few days during the week and we have become a family of four over night. Even Guido and Sam felt the change so we enjoy every moment he is at home. I am secretly planning our next family holiday. Away from the crowd and enjoy each other ‘s company like we did during lockdown..
In the meantime, I can’t be more happier for him and both Miguel and I do our very best to support him in every way we can to reach his goal and send him off in July!
