So proud of our surfer! He came second place at the Open Red Bull Surf Competition for juniors! It all happened so fast. Before we knew he had signed himself up and was competing :). His best friend Jay was competing at national level and came first place. An amazing achievement. They are both so passionate about surf and have been surfing together for the last year in A’bay where Jay lives most of the year and Galle where we are based.
Sam has improved a lot and he often wakes up at 5.30am to hit the waves before school and in the weekends when the weather is good. Ruben at times joins him when he is back from Colombo and they go surfing together or with some other friends.
In a few weeks Sam will be off to A’bay alone. The season has started there and he will be staying at Jay’ s place Gecko. A small cozy hostel and restaurant right on the beach with views over main point. Can’t be better! Lucky him!!
